Witnesses reported that the Hyundai passed multiple vehicles prior to the collision and lost control after going around a curve in the road, police said. The car rotated on the roadway, crossed the center line and was hit on the passenger side by the van, according to police reports.

Barrack Reconstructionists responded to the scene and were assisted by the Maryland State Police CRASH team. The roadway was closed for approximately five hours during the investigation.
