Police Search for Robbery Suspect, Offer Reward

Police are searching for a man who is wanted for one attempted robbery and two successful robberies.

The Westminster Police Department is offering a $1,000 reward for assistance in finding the suspect responsible for three different robbery-related incidents over the past two weekends.

Police said the robberies are related.

Police are investigating an Oct. 13 attempted robbery that took place at approximately 9:45 p.m. in the parking lot of the Dollar Store, 8 Westminster Shopping Center. According to police, two employees were confronted by a man who demanded they turn over the store’s night deposit. The suspect was not able to get the money from the employees and ran off, police said.

On Friday Oct. 18 at approximately 8:35 p.m. in the 140 Village Shopping Center, police report that one person was confronted by a man armed with a knife that demanded cash. The armed man got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. The victim was not injured, police said.

On Sunday Oct. 20 shortly after midnight, a person was confronted by a man armed with a knife and demanded cash in the area of Pennsylvania Avenue and James Street, police said. Again, he got away with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to police. The victim was not injured.

Police believe the suspect in these incidents are the same man, described as a light skinned black male, possibly in his 30s, approximately 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet, 2 inches tall, weighing about 180 to 200 pounds. He was described as wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled tight over his face.

The Westminster Police Department is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the identification, arrest and conviction of the suspect.
