Police Seek Information About Items Stolen from Cars, Offer Reward

All the vehicles appear to have been unlocked at the time of the thefts, police said.

The Westminster Police Department is investigating a series of thefts from vehicles in several communities in the western portion of the city Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

According to police, eight vehicles and one storage trailer were entered during the overnight hours. It appears that all the vehicles were unlocked, although a padlock was cut off of the storage trailer to gain access police said.

Property stolen from the vehicles included electronics (GPS units, IPad, IPod and radar detector), a wallet and a small amount of money. Thefts were reported along Medinah Circle, Avenel Circle, Ewing Drive, Tram Way, Caldara Court and Richmar Drive, police said.

A $250 reward is being offered for information leading to the conviction of those responsible. Police remind residents to lock their vehicles and secure their valuables to minimize the risk of future thefts.
