As originally reported:

The body of a teenage male was found Wendnesday just after 11 a.m. in the woods off Sandymount Road in Finksburg.

Lt. Jim DeWees of the Maryland State Police Department said the boy was severely diabetic and appears to have died of natural causes.

Although the Carroll County Sheriff's Department is now overseeing the investigation, DeWees said the state police are called to scenes where a death appears to be suspicious or a homicide.

"After we looked at the scene, there didn't appear to be anything suspicious," DeWees said.

He said an autopsy would be done this evening or tomorrow morning to determine the exact cause of death.
