Sheriff Makes Accident Reports Available Online

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office is making motor vehicle accident reports available online. 

Motor vehicle accident reports completed on or after July 1, 2012, can now be accessed through the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office Website at www.carrollcountysheriff.com or, www.policereports.us. Once there, scroll down to the map and click on Maryland and then click on “Carroll County Sheriff’s Office.”

According to the department, in 2011 Carroll County Sheriff’s Deputies completed 441 motor vehicle accident reports, with administrative staff manually processing several requests for copies of each report.

To download reports, you will need internet access and a credit card to complete the purchase. The cost for motor vehicle accident reports is $4 for the first page plus $2 for each additional page.  A $4 fee is added by PoliceReports.US, LLC for processing. 

Reports can be printed directly from the internet.  To search for an accident report, simply enter either the report number or date of accident and last name.  It may take three to five days after the accident has occurred for the report to be available on the site.
