Sheriff Releases Photos of Suspected Wallet Thief

Deputies say this man stole a wallet and credit cards. Then promptly went shopping.

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help identifying a man who deputies say stole credit cards from a school and then used them around town. 

According to a statement released from the Sheriff’s Office, someone stole a wallet and credit cards sometime on or near June 6 from Carroll County Community College at 1601 Washington Road in Westminster.

Shortly after the wallet and credit cards were reported stolen, they were used at the following stores, all in Westminster:

  • Wal-Mart  
  • Rite Aid  
  • Office Depot  
  • Food Lion 

The thief is described as a black man in his 50s. He was wearing a suit and a brim-hat. Photos from campus security are attached, and deputies may release additional photos from surveillance videos if they become available.

The Sheriff’s office asks anyone with information on this suspect or similar cases to contact Deputy Hemler at 410-386-2900.
