Sheriff’s Office Reminds Motorists to Stay Sober, Drive Safe and Buckle Up

Police said they will be out in force during the holidays.

In conjunction with the National Click it or Ticket Seatbelt Usage Campaign, Carroll County Sheriff’s Deputies said they will be out in extra force during the Thanksgiving Holiday period to promote public safety by enforcing motor vehicle laws including, drunk/drugged driving, aggressive driving and seatbelt violations.

According to AAA, approximately 42.2 million people will travel more than fifty miles to visit family and friends this coming weekend, with many driving during nighttime hours police said in a release.

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office encourages all motorists and passengers to buckle up before starting your journey.  Do not drive while drowsy and take extra time for breaks during long trips and if necessary, share driving responsibilities. Likewise, many Thanksgiving celebrations include drinking alcohol.  If you imbibe, please use common sense by drinking responsibly and designating a sober driver in advance.
