Teen Found Dead in Eldersburg Identified

Investigators do not suspect foul play in the teenager's death.

Carroll County officials have released the name of the teenager found dead in a vehicle in an Eldersburg parking lot Wednesday and confirmed that he had been inside the car for at least 24 hours.

According to a statement released by the Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the Martins grocery store in the 1300 block of Londontown Boulevard at 1:15 p.m. and found Seth James Lara, 19, dead inside a vehicle.

Lara was listed as a 2012 Liberty High School graduate, according to the Baltimore Sun's graduation roster. Lara had moved to San Antonio sometime after graduation, which is why deputies initially reported he was from Texas.

According to Col. Phil Kasten, "[Lara] had been there for at least the prior 24 hours, possibly longer."

The medical examiner has not yet released a cause of death but, according to Kasten, detectives do not suspect foul play.
