Two Juveniles Charged in Cross-Burning

The youths were released to the custody of their parents.

The Carroll County Sheriff's Office reports that two juveniles were charged on several counts in the burning of a wooden cross in a victim's driveway.

According to a sheriff's department news release, on Dec. 23 at approximately 11:02 p.m., sheriff's deputies and the fire marshall responded to the 500 block of Ravenshead Run Road in Westminster for a burned wooden cross found in the driveway.

Police said that an investigation and interviews led them to two juvenile suspects who were taken into custody and charged with second degree malicious burning, race/religion harassment and malicious destruction of property.  The juveniles were processed and released to their parents, police said.
