Carroll's Senate Delegation to Meet with Commissioners, Hold Public Hearing

Carroll's Senators have already pre-filed two local bills.

Carroll County's state Senate representatives will hold a joint meeting with the Carroll County Commissioners to discuss local legislation for the current legislative session.

On Jan. 23, Carroll's senators and commissioners will meet at the county government office building at 4:30 p.m. 

The Senate Delegation has pre-filed two of the local bills that passed the Senate last year, but failed in the House:

  • Senate Bill 37 – Carroll County – Gaming: a hearing has been scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 22 in the Budget and Tax Committee at 1 p.m.;
  • Senate Bill 40 – Courts and Judicial Proceedings – Circuit Court for Carroll County: Fees for Appearance of Counsel a hearing has been scheduled for hearing on Tuesday, Jan. 21 in the Judicial Proceedings Committee at 1:30 p.m.

The Senate Delegation will be holding their annual public hearing on the proposed legislative package on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 10 a.m. at the Carroll County Government Office Building, 225 North Center Street, Room 003 (Public Hearing Room). Please use the lower level entrance.

Citizens are invited to hear the presentation on the legislation and provide testimony on the proposals.
