Citizens Form Organization, Weigh in on Commissioner Decisions

Citizens are creating a group called Citizens United for Carroll to fight for what they believe is the right direction for the county.

Twenty Carroll County citizens met in Finksburg recently to discuss the current state of and future of Carroll County. The group plans to establish a nonpartisan organization to be called Citizens United for Carroll.

A statement distributed by the group says, "The group believes that the Board of Commissioners draft master plan takes the county in the wrong direction in relation to development priorities and strategies. The group believes that the commissioners' recent attacks on the draft PlanMaryland approach are unwise and unwarranted."

According to the statement, officers will be elected at a meeting in October, to include a president, vice president, secretary, treasurer and communications officer.
