City, Finance Director Awarded for 'Distinguished Budget'

The Government Finance Officers Association recognized the city of Westminster and its finance director for presenting a "distinguished budget."

At a recent meeting of Westminster's city council and mayor, Director of Finance and Administrative Services Gary Ehlers was presented an award recognizing the strength of the city's budget presentation.

According to the Government Finance Officers Association, the award reflects the commitment of the governing body and staff to meet the highest principles of governmental budgeting. In order to receive the budget award, the city had to meet nationally recognized guidelines designed to assess how well the budget serves as: a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide, a communications device.

Ehlers was presented with a Certificate of Recognition for being the driving force behind the budget presentation.
