Town Official Sings Loud Her Contempt for State Spending Policies - Literally

Commissioner Robin Frazier supports prayer at public meetings and making English the official language of her Maryland county. Her song starts at 3:11.

Carroll County Commissioner Robin Frazier took to song to share her frustration with state mandates and taxes at the Annual State of the County address Tuesday morning.

Each of the five commissioners was given the opportunity to speak at the event hosted by the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce and attended by the business community. Commissioner Frazier's portion was pre-recorded as she was out of town during the event.

Frazier started her speech saying that Carroll County needs to "Ready, Aim, Fire" in 2014. She said the county needs to continue shielding itself from state and federal government overreach.

Three minutes into her speech, Frazier sang her very own "Commissioner Carol" to help make her point.

The song's lyrics are as follows:

Summer time and the livin’s not easy, sewer rates are jumpin’, they say the nitrates too high, O’Malley’s economics and policies got folks all lookin’ to rush across the border so their businesses won’t die. One of these mornings, you’re gonna rise up ascreamin’, finances spread too thin, government spending that’s why. You’re rights they’re ignoring, but don’t you let them disarm you, get up off your fanny, take a stand, don’t be shy.

Frazier has been vocal in other controversial issues during her term as commissioner, including advocating for Christian prayers to begin public meetings, suggesting an ordinance to limit drone use in the county and supporting an ordinance to make English the official county language
