Commissioners Name Burke County Attorney

The Carroll County Board of Commissioners appointed Tim Burke to the position of County Attorney effective immediately. Burke has been serving in an acting capacity since last April following the resignation of Kimberly Millender.  

“I am extremely pleased that we are removing the interim tag, and Tim Burke will be our County Attorney," said Commissioner Haven Shoemaker in a news release.  Tim has dedicated a decade and a half to serving the people of Carroll County, and is well respected by the local bench and bar. We are lucky to have him, and I'm confident that he will be an excellent County Attorney.” 

Burke was hired in 1996 as an Assistant County Attorney to provide legal advice to allied agencies, boards and commissions; in addition to representing The County in the state and appellate courts of Maryland and the United States Federal Court, the news release reports.
