Commissioners Shoemaker and Howard Host Community Meetings

The Commissioners will discuss community issues including education.

Carroll County Commissioners Doug Howard and Haven Shoemaker will be holding a series of community meetings to discuss issues facing Carroll County.

According to a statement, the meetings will focus on key county services and the challenges facing the county in providing the services in the future:  

  • Education: Operating Budgets, Future of Charles Carroll Elementary, Common Core 
  • Multi-Year Tax Rate Strategy
  • Economic Development
  • County Budget for Fiscal Year 15 
Commissioners Howard and Shoemaker will be presenting at all five sessions and according to a news release, "they are also willing to accommodate the commissioner representing the district in which the meeting will be held with some time to make a brief presentation if they would like."

The meetings will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the following locations:  
  • Tuesday, Jan. 7 at Charles Carroll Elementary, 3719 Littlestown Pike, Westminster
  • Tuesday, Jan. 14 at Liberty High School, 5855 Bartholow Rd., Eldersburg 
  • Monday, Jan. 27 at North Carroll High School, 1400 Panther Dr., Hampstead
  • Tuesday, Jan. 28 at Mt. Airy Middle School, 102 Watersville Rd., Mt. Airy 
  • Monday, Feb. 3 at East Middle School, 121 Longwell Avenue, Westminster 
These meetings are open to the public.
