Council Seeks Nominations for Environmental Award

The nomination deadline is March 1.

The Carroll County Environmental Advisory Council (EAC) is seeking nominations for the 2012 Environmental Awareness Awards.

The purpose of the awards program is to promote awareness of the environment and acknowledge exemplary accomplishments in the protection, conservation, and improvement of environmental resources according to a news release.

The Carroll County commissioners adopted the Environmental Awareness Awards program in 1990 to recognize individuals and groups that have demonstrated these qualities through their actions or projects.

Awards will be granted for projects that result in positive benefit to the environment and have the potential for long-term community environmental benefit in each of six categories: individual, institutional, agriculture, business, K-12 student, and college student.
