Commissioners to Discuss County Master Plan at Evening Meeting

Carroll County's commissioners will meet this evening at 7 p.m. to discuss several chapters of the draft master plan.

The Board of will host an open session meeting this evening, Sept. 13, to review several chapters of the county's master plan draft

The Planning and Zoning Commission, the body charged with writing the plan, has completed drafts of all but two sections of the plan according to a news release.  The remaining sections will be completed after review and consideration of a land suitability analysis that is currently being conducted.

The master plan details the county's future development and overall character. It serves as a guide for where the county is going.

The county's media relations specialist Roberta Windham said that the commissioners will be reviewing several chapters of the plan at this evening's meeting to familiarize themselves with it. The public is encouraged to attend.

After the Planning and Zoning Commission completes the entire master plan, a public hearing will be held for citizens to comment, Windham said.

The meeting will be held tonight at 7 p.m. in Room 003 of the County Office Building, 225 N. Center Street. The meeting will also be streamed live and after tomorrow, available in the county's video archive
