Statewide Emergency Management Exercise April 12

On Thursday, April 12, local emergency response agencies will participate in a statewide emergency management exercise.

On Thursday, April 12 the Carroll County Office of Public Safety Support Services, Emergency Management Division and other County Departments along with the Sheriffs Department, the County Health Department, Carroll County Public Schools and Carroll Community College will be participating in a Statewide Functional Exercise with other Maryland Counties.

According to a new release, this training exercise will enable county government to practice interaction, coordination and communications with the State of Maryland, other local Emergency Operation Centers and the employees that will be working in the Carroll County Emergency Operation Center in response to an emergency situation.

The simulated emergency for this exercise is an earthquake with its epicenter in Jessup Maryland.

This exercise will not negatively impact or disrupt county roads, schools or emergency services for those living or working within the county according to the news release.
