Veteran's Roundtable: Westminster High Grads Talk About Being in WWII (VIDEO)

The Westminster High School media center became Memory Lane for several WWII veterans Thursday.

Seventy some years after attending Westminster High School as students, eight gentlemen participated in a roundtable discussion at the school on Thursday, Nov. 10 to share their experiences serving in WWII.

Sterling Beard, Romeo Valianti, Carroll Myers, Denton Twigg, Jim Billingslea, John Armacost, Howard Green and Ed Wicks spent two hours talking with Steve Bowersox, a social studies teacher at Westminster High School, and a group of students.

The veterans shared personal stories of their war experiences, they explained what life was like in rural Carroll County in the 1940's, and they talked about how WWII affected the country.

The event was organized by Bowersox in honor of Veteran's Day on Nov. 11.
