Carroll County's Department of Land Use, Planning and Development hired Lynda Eisenberg as the Chief of the Bureau of Comprehensive Planning for Carroll County, according to a news release.

As Bureau Chief, Eisenberg will be responsible for all aspects of comprehensive planning including land use, water and wastewater, community facilities and natural resource planning, according to a news release. She will also manage four bureau employees.

Eisenberg is a Graduate of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in Environmental Studies and holds a Masters in Geography and Environmental Planning from Towson University, according to a county news release. She has an extensive background in Maryland planning and land use programs as well as federal and intergovernmental experience in large landscape and watershed planning.

Eisenberg was key staff in the Maryland Department of Planning representing Maryland’s growth management policies, and served as lead MDP staff for the Rural Legacy Advisory Board and as the Secretary’s Designee for the Governor’s Commission for Sustainable Forestry. She has experience reviewing and commenting on County Comprehensive Plans; developing guidelines for the state’s Land Preservation Parks and Recreation Plan; and reviewing the draft and final plans from the Counties. 

Most recently, Eisenberg has been working in the private sector with local governments in obtaining federal and state land preservation grants as well as creating comprehensive plans for local jurisdictions, according to a news release.
