Board of Education Meetings: Live in Your Living Room

Have you ever thought about having a Board of Education meeting in your living room?

Well now you can have the best of both worlds-- watch a Board of Education meeting from the comfort of your home, without having to find seating for all those people. 

Starting with this Wednesday's regularly scheduled Board meeting at 5 p.m., community members will be able to view a live stream of the meetings on the Carroll County Public Schools website. 

According to a Board of Education news release, all Board of Education meetings, as well as other programming on CETV Channel 21, will now be streamed live. 

According to Superintendent of Schools Stephen Guthrie, “This is just another step toward meeting our goal of engaging the community as much as possible. We have been working on this project for several years with limited resources and are pleased to be able to offer this feature. It is our hope that it will enable a higher percentage of our community to watch our Board meetings.” 

All CETV Channel 21 programming is being streamed live on the website. These programs include:

• Education Matters with Superintendent Stephen Guthrie
• Focus on Education, an interview program that highlights topics and activities taking place in the school system
• CETV Newsmakers: On the Positive Side, a news magazine format show that highlights noteworthy students, events, and activities
• Instructionally Speaking with Assistant Superintendent of Instruction Steve Johnson
• Students are Talking, a program hosted by Steve Johnson and featuring students talking about current education topics.

Board meetings and other online programming may be accessed by visiting the Carroll County Public Schools website. Click on CETV Channel 21 on the right side of the home page and then CCPS CETV Webstreaming, or go directly to:

Board meetings are scheduled for the second Wednesday of the month at 5 p.m. and the fourth Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. Please note that dates and times are subject to change.
