Calling All Young Writers: Writing Contest Deadline Extended

The winner will be announced at the Penguin Random House Book Fair in March at Carroll Community College.

Know a talented young writer who deserves some recognition for his or her work? It's not too late to submit entries in the Penguin Random House Book Fair writing contest.

The annual Penguin Random House Book Fair will be held on Friday, March 7 and Saturday, March 8 at Carroll Community College.

Carroll County students in grades one through 12 are eligible to enter a previously unpublished short story and/or poem in the Student Writing Contest, an annual Book Fair tradition. Penguin Random House will donate 100 books to the school with the most Student Writing Contest entries.

The deadline has been extended. Entries must be submitted to the Carroll Community College Foundation no later than Monday, Nov. 25, 2013.

Each entry may have only one author and only one entry per author may be submitted for each category. Entries must be the students own work. Further guidelines are available at www.carrollcc.edu/foundation/events/bookfair. Selection criteria are also available on the website.
