We Asked, You Shared: Back to School Photo Gallery

It's not too late! Add first day of school photos to the gallery.

Monday, Aug. 27 was the first day of school for students.

We have a full year before we have to do that again. But we have the photos to savor the day. Here are some photos shared by Patch users of local kids heading back to school.

You can add your photos too.

Share your photos with the community and make your child feel extra special by posting his/her picture on Patch. Feel free to include your child's name, grade and school with the picture.

Here are some easy ways you can submit your photos:

  1. You can post directly to this article. We are getting some cute photos - keep them coming! And parents, how are you feeling 4 hours into the first day of school? I know I'm dying to know how the kids are doing - if they like the teacher, if I forgot any supplies, if the new lunch box kept the drink cool. What's going through your mind?

When the first day of school rolls around, this memory always comes to mind. Our son had gone to daycare and preschool for several years. On his first day of kindergarten, however, he was very clingy and started to tear up as we left him. His new teachers, Mrs. Kathy Robinson and Mrs. Sharon Daigle took good care of him and made him feel comfortable. At the end of his first school day, he came running to my car with a huge smile. He jumped in the car – so excited to tell me about his day. He then called my husband, who was out of town at the time. He was unable to answer the phone, so our son Ty left him a simple message that said, " I had a great day. I love St.John’s!" Two years later, my husband still has that message saved to his phone and our son still absolutely loves his school!” Becky Grove
