Video: Strong Start for Owls Basketball
The Boys Basketball team at Westminster High School has hit the court running this season.
The Westminster High School boys basketball team is 3-0 a week into the season.
Head coach Steve Byrnes said he attributes the early success to team chemistry and a commitment to defense. This is Byrnes' third season as the boys coach at Westminster and his first season starting with a winning record.
So far, the Owls have beat Frederick, Linganore and Francis Scott Key. Thursday they will take on Manchester Valley and Saturday they will host the Eastern Tech Mavericks.

Byrnes said he has completely revamped his practice sessions this year. Since last season, Byrnes has attended several seminars and workshops featuring some of the top college basketball coaches in the country.
The Owls have a long season ahead of them and plenty of tough opposition to face in the county.
