Winters Mill High School Spring Art Show

Check out some amazing art work, created by local students, at Winters Mill High School Friday at 6 p.m.

This year’s Student Art Exhibit will be held in the cafeteria on Friday, May 11  from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

This annual, juried event showcases the best student work from all levels of art courses created this school year. Hundreds of drawings, paintings, sculpture and mixed media artwork will fill the cafeteria.

Meet the student artists and vote for your favorite art work for the People’s Choice award.  The awards ceremony begins at 7:30 p.m. when the Best in Show, the Best AP Portfolio and the Best Art in 12 different media will be announced.

Winters Mill High School Fine Arts Department Chair Sharon Schaeffer said that the annual art show highlights work from all classes, from beginning artists through advanced studio artists.

"It is important for our art students to be recognized for their talents by their peers, teachers and school community," Schaeffer told Patch in an email. "The show reflects the vast array of media and styles of art that are taught at Winters Mill.  It is a celebration of everything our art students have accomplished during the school year."
