Carroll Biz Challenge: Which Entrepreneur Will You Vote For?

A local entrepreneur will be named the 2013 Carroll Biz Challenge winner and take home $5,000 Friday.

Tickets are still available for Friday evening's Carroll Biz Challenge finale event at McDaniel College. This Shark Tank-like event will allow a panel of local judges and the live audience to decide which of five local entrepreneurs will win the $5,000 prize.

Fifteen local entrepreneurs with business start-up ideas applied for the 2013 Carroll Biz Challenge. The winner of the local contest will win $5,000 to help get his or her business off the ground.

Five finalists were chosen and on Nov. 22 they will be pitching their start up businesses to a panel of judges in front of a live audience at McDaniel College. The event will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. at McDaniel College's Decker Auditorium and tickets cost $25. Tickets can be purchased athttp://carrollbizchallenge.com/live-contest/

Winner Selection
After each finalist has taken the stage, the live audience attendees each cast a vote for their favorite entrepreneur. The finalist with the most audience votes will be awarded the Vox Pop Communications People’s Choice Award and a $500 cash prize. The People’s Choice Award winner also receives one “Contest Judge” vote. Each Contest Judge will then, one-by-one, cast their vote. The finalist with the most Contest Judge votes will be crowned the Carroll Biz Challenge 2013 Winner and be awarded the big check for $5,000.

For those who are not selected as Finalists, their applications will be reviewed by Zenith Capital Holdings for the purpose of uncovering a big idea that needs a little work. The Zenith Capital Holdings Big Idea award winner will be given a workshop session with Michael Gibble, President and CEO of Zenith Capital Holdings. During the workshop, Michael will work with the winner to help mold their big idea into an actionable business model and plan.
