'Firefighter 50 Bike Ride' Participants to Use Carroll County Roads

Approximately 500 bikers will be using Carroll County roadways on July 28. Keep your eyes open and share the road.

The Pleasant Valley Community Fire Company, Inc. will sponsor a charity bicycle ride on Sunday, July 28, between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Organizers ask that drivers in Northern Carroll County be alert for bicyclists during the event.

Approximately 500 cyclists will be biking the roads in Northern Carroll County, according to a news release. No roads will be closed for this event.

"All attempts have been made to keep the riders on secondary and scenic back roads, but riders will cross and be using such roads as Route 140; Route 97; Route 194; Stone Road; Mayberry Road; Keysville Road; Uniontown Road and others," Pleasant Valley Community Fire Company President Steve Wantz said in a statement.

Motorists are asked to respect the cyclists rights and to use extreme caution as these riders enjoy our county roads.
