Carroll County's Old-Fashioned July 4th Celebration

There's a full day of fun to be had at the Farm Museum on July 4th.

The Carroll County Farm Museum will host the Old-Fashioned July 4th Celebration and Fireworks on Thursday, July 4 from noon until the fireworks end.

The fireworks, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Westminster, are scheduled to begin at approximately 9:30 p.m.

Cost of admission from 12 noon to 5 p.m. is $5 for adults, $4 for ages 7-18 and 60+ and free for kids 6 and under with a paying adult. After 5 p.m., a $5 per car load parking donation will be collected by the Kiwanis Club of Westminster to help offset the cost of the fireworks display.

This year's entertainment includes The HepCats, The Carroll County Cloggers, Standard Delivery Combo, and Uncle Sam on stilts and the Monkey Man with his monkey, Django.

A variety of foods will be on sale and vendors will be set up selling handmade craft items.  Kids won't get bored with the old-time games or the moon bounce obstacle course (there is a $5 for this).

Need more? Guided tours of the Farmhouse will be given by guides in period attire from noon until 5 p.m. and the Living History Center, exhibit buildings and the Museum Gift Shop will be open. The Farmhouse features six rooms depicting 19th Century farm life.

Volunteer artisans will be demonstrating their skills as they were performed in the 1900’s between noon and 5 p.m. Mule wagon rides will be available from noon to 6 p.m., for an additional fee.

Fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9:30 p.m. Center Street, Gist Road and Kate Wagner Road will be shut down to incoming traffic at 8:30 p.m. Those coming to the fireworks must be on the grounds and parked by that time or risk being turnedback.

No personal fireworks, smoke bombs or sparklers will be permitted. No pets and no alcohol are allowed on the Farm Museum grounds.
