The Community Foundation of Carroll County has extended the voting period for the to September 30, 2012.
Carroll Counts is a capital campaign with a twist. All proceeds will benefit the Community Foundation of Carroll County and the inaugural projects. Carroll County residents are invited to support the community projects with votes and dollars until September 30, 2012.
Which project(s) do you want to support?
Response to the Carroll County campaign has been strong, with over 1000 votes and dollars going to the seven non-profit projects in the friendly donation competition, according to a news release.
Currently, leads the vote with their project, an effort to raise money to purchase scoreboards for baseball, softball and field hockey. Not far behind is 's Outreach to the Hungry, whose fundraising effort will support bringing nutritionally balanced weekly supply of food to needy families and individuals.
But the competition isn’t over yet. The Partnership and Inspiration for Engineering Education and Entrepreneurship’s Robotics project aims to take the lead with the help of a “Big Bang Theory” inspired video. And these four other projects are all working hard to share their visions with the community they will support:
- Hailey’s Wish wants to outfit local playgrounds with accessible equipment so that kids of all abilities can play together.
- St. Joseph’s Catholic Community plans to sponsor a Martin Luther King, Jr. “JUST DO IT” Service Day for students.
- Specialty Care Access Project by Access Carroll will provide chronic disease care to those in need.
- The Literacy Council of Carroll County is planning to secure learning materials for their Tutor Resource Room, covering everything from math to GED preparation.
With enough votes and dollars, The Community Foundation of Carroll County hopes that all the projects will be funded. But the project that wins the most votes will be featured at CFCC’s Philanthropists of the Year Breakfast in October.
