Fall Weather, Electronic Billboards, Regional Band Night and Special Olympics Walk This Week in Westminster

Weather
Tuesday and Wednesday we have a chance of showers with temps in the mid-50s. Thursday and Friday we should see sun but the temps will hover right around 50 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

Government
This week the board of Carroll County Commissioners will discuss a bond resolution, an increased fare for college student using CATS (Carroll Area Transit), electronic billboards and more.

Schools
Residents can give their input on a school facilities study Tuesday at Century High School at 7 p.m. and Wednesday at Westminster High School at 7 p.m.

There is also a Board of Education meeting and work session on Wednesday at 1 p.m.

  • Regional Band Night: Instrumental students from Elmer A. Wolfe, Runnymede, and Taneytown Elementary Schools, as well as New Windsor and Northwest Middle Schools, will participate in a Regional Band Night at the Francis Scott Key vs. Westminster High School football game on Friday, Oct. 25.
  • The South Carroll Stagelighters will present The Love of Three Oranges on Oct. 24, 25 and 26 at 7 p.m., with a 2 p.m. matinee on Oct. 26.
  • Susan Williamson from the Carroll Arts Center discusses works from local artists Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Carroll Lutheran Village, fee is $5. Details here
  • Carroll County Special Olympics Inspiration Walk/5K at the Carroll County Farm Museum on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 9 a.m. Details here.
