I love J Cafe. I have been there several times and I am always happy with the food and the service. The Belgian waffles are my favorite!!!! I am so happy to have them so close by. Keep up the good work. Oh wait did I mention they have amazing cupcakes in different flavors. Yummy
The menu is full of fresh, homemade, tasty and healthy selections. I've loved everything I've tasted. I highly recommend the chicken salad, which offers a healthier, lighter taste, made with olive oil rather than mayo, and has craisins for a sweet flavor.
Not only do I love the food, but the service is great. I once was dining next to a family with a small child, and noticed the staff made the child plain grilled cheese since nothing on the menu was appealing to him. Also, the owner spoke with me about selecting the appropriate menu for a small party I was holding. I ordered a platter of spinach feta wraps, Italian pasta salad, and a dozen assorted cupcakes, and was impressed by the taste and presentation (the wrap was platter garnished with sliced red and orange peppers). The tray was left completely empty (garnish included), when I expected to have leftovers. Even my picky father-in-law-to-be, who normally doesn't like "healthy food" like wraps, said they were very good.
The specialty cupcakes are to die for! They have the classics (chocolate/peanut-butter, coconut, red velvet) and also some unique flavors, like Mounds (chocolate cake with coconut icing) and peanut-butter-and-jelly (which my father-in-law-to-be loved!) I love the cherry-vanilla-almond cupcake, and I normally don't like cherry anything! J Cafe is always surprising me with new cupcake flavors, and I can't wait for the summer flavors. I think J Cafe is the best thing that came to Westminster in 2011!
My husband and I went for lunch yesterday based on all the comments about the best breakfast.
It was OK. Not good. Not bad. I doubt we'll return.
I ordered the chicken tortilla soup. It was very bland. I expected cumin or some sort of kick. I also had the spinach feta wrap. It too was very bland. The turkey was good, but it was covered in too much mayo. The roasted peppers were from a jar and tasteless. The feta looked more like a hunk of mozzarella and it too was bland. The wrap was huge! I took half home and ate it for lunch today so it obviously was good enough. The pickle was a boring old Vlassic. I didn't try the kettle chips.
Service was ok. We waited a long time to pay our check. We weren't in a rush, however our meal did take over an hour. But the weather was nice yesterday. It was nice to sit at a table by the front window and watch all the walkers and joggers on Main St.
My Fiance and I had lunch there and it was great service and great food. I definitely recommend it if you are in the area.

I recently went to J Cafe for the first time on Sunday with a friend who loves the place. Immediately after entering, I can see why she loves it! The decor is modern yet comfortable. The staff is friendly and attentive. The whole lunch menu is made with fresh foods so you know that nothing is coming out of the freezer. I ordered a Caprese Mozzarella Tomato Pesto grilled panini type sandwich and she ordered a quiche with a small salad. The food was presented wonderful and tasted fantastic! Since, it was my birthday, we also indulged in several delicious cupcakes: carrot cake, coconut, and key lime. Each one was beautiful, moist, and just the right amount for dessert. Thanks to the staff for completing a perfect lunch! I would highly recommend J Cafe for area natives or those visiting from out of town!
