Sheriff's Investivate Saturday Morning Stabbing

Two young men were stabbed during a fight on Hoke Road, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Two young men were stabbed on Hoke Road early Saturday morning and the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help locating suspects.  According to a statement released by the Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to more than one 911 call about a fight in progress just after 3 a.m. Saturday. When deputies arrived at the 1600 block of Hoke Road, according to the statement, they found a large party and a 19-year-old male, bloodied with several stab wounds to his hips and thighs. Deputies determined that the victim had been stabbed while trying to break up a fight at the party. Later in the day, sheriff’s detectives encountered the second victim at the Carroll County Hospital Center. The 18-year-old male had been stabbed on his left …

Police: Two Men Charged for Assaulting Man at Homeless Encampment

The victim was transported to Carroll Hospital Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Police said they arrested two men living at a homeless encampment in Westminster after they assaulted a third man living at the camp Wednesday evening. At approximately 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, police said they responded to a wooded area adjacent to the CSX train tracks approximately 300 yards South of Goodwin’s Quarry Road for a report of an injured person.  According to a police report, deputies found a group of apparently intoxicated homeless people at a makeshift campsite, and began administering first aid to a 48-year-old man found bleeding from his right thigh. Two violent acts, a stabbing and a shooting, have people talking about safety in Eldersburg.

Two violent acts in less than a month in Eldersburg, a place that has been  ranked nationally as one of America’s best small towns, have residents sounding off about the safety of their community, which saw a fatal grocery store stabbing in June and a double shooting Friday that police said left one man dead. “Jeez, bad month for murders in [the] Sykesville/Eldersburg area,” posted Annette Romanowski-Grigore on the Eldersburg Patch Facebook page in response to the Friday shooting. Man Accused of Stabbing Co-Worker to Death in Eldersburg

New York man charged with second-degree murder in fatal stabbing at Eldersburg grocery.

  Police have charged a New York man with murder in the stabbing death of a co-cleaning crew worker at an Eldersburg grocery late Tuesday, according to the Maryland State Police. Zamani Lawson, 26, of Jamaica, N.Y., was charged Wednesday with the second-degree murder of a 22-year-old fellow employee from Brooklyn, N.Y., who police have declined to identity pending notification of relatives. The slaying occurred at Martin's supermarket where the two men were working a night shift as contract cleaning workers, police said. Lawson was found in front of the store with blood on his shirt, and the victim was found in a storage area with several stab wounds in the torso, police said. Sheriff Charges Man in Taneytown Stabbing

Police have charged a 23-year-old man for stabbing that took place in Taneytown in March.

Carroll County Sheriff’s Detectives have charged Brian Keith McIntyre, 23, with first degree assault and carrying a dangerous weapon for the March 3 assault on a Westminster man during a private party at a Taneytown home.  Police said they were called to Carroll Hospital Center on March 3 at approximately 4:30 a.m. for a patient suffering from a stab wound to his lower back.  According to police, the victim, a 26-year-old Westminster man, had gotten stabbed while removing unwelcome visitors from a party in a home on Bull Frog Road outside of Taneytown. Police said the victim was transported by a friend to Carroll Hospital Center and later relocated to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. The injury was not life threatening and …

Westminster Man Charged in Overnight Assault on Mother

A man was charged with first and second degree assault as well as reckless endangerment.

Carroll County sheriff’s detectives have charged Eric Douglas Liem, 23, with first and second degree assault and reckless endangerment in the overnight assault on his mother at their home just outside of Westminster.  Shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday night, law enforcement officers from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and Maryland State Police were dispatched to a home along the 500 block of Goldenrod Terrace for reports of an altercation, according to police.   Police said they found 52-year-old Suzanne Mary Liem conscious, but suffering from multiple stab wounds to her back and chest.  Her son, Eric Douglas Liem, was also inside the home at the time and surrendered to law enforcement officers without incident police said.  The assault …

Westminster Man One of Five Arrested in Garrison Stabbings

Police: Each man faces attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault charges. They are being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center without bail.

Baltimore County police have arrested five men in two stabbings Tuesday in front of a townhouse in Garrison, according to a police statement. Each man is charged with attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault, it states. The following were arrested, and are being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center, according to the statement: "Williams was released from Sinai Hospital after being injured during the fight," the release states. At about 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, police were called to 9 Spectator Lane in Garrison for the report of a stabbing.
