The Westminster Police Department is investigating a series of thefts from vehicles in several communities in the western portion of the city Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. According to police, eight vehicles and one storage trailer were entered during the overnight hours. It appears that all the vehicles were unlocked, although a padlock was cut off of the storage trailer to gain access police said. Property stolen from the vehicles included electronics (GPS units, IPad, IPod and radar detector), a wallet and a small amount of money. Thefts were reported along Medinah Circle, Avenel Circle, Ewing Drive, Tram Way, Caldara Court and Richmar Drive, police said. A Finksburg man was charged yesterday afternoon for stealing from several unlocked vehicles parked at private homes in the Finksburg area, according to a press release. Cody David Pierce, 22, was charged with theft, fourth degree burglary, and "rogue and vagabond," for the theft of cash, jewelry, electronics and other valuables taken from several unlocked vehicles, according to the release. At least eight residents along Turnberry Court and Lawndale Road in Finksburg reported thefts from their vehicles overnight on Nov. 12 and into the early morning of Nov. 13.
