Like all moms, Jen Walker wears a lot of hats.  When not juggling life with her two young daughters, husband, and the family dog, she teaches English, Environmental Studies, and Green-Centered Experiential Education & Service Learning courses at McDaniel College.  She also teaches yoga for babies and toddlers and sometimes offers courses at Irvine Nature Center.  In her spare time, she enjoys . . . what spare time?

The Specifics:

Jen earned her Undergraduate and Master's degrees from Salisbury University (Philosophy and English).  In 2010, she received her Ph.D.  in English from the George Washington University. 

She has taught: Service Learning Centered Writing, Thoreauvian Science, Environmental History, Environmental Literature, The Life and Times of Henry Thoreau, Environmental Responsibility, and Native American Literature.

Field courses she has taught include: Everglades Experience, Louisiana Restoration, Maryland Field Experience, Florida Keys Nature and Culture, and California Counter-Culture.

Her research interests include: Interdisciplinary Environmentally Informed Experiential and Service Learning Education; Native American and Native Hawaiian studies; Ecojustice and Activism
