Pick-Your-Own Produce in and Around Carroll County

Buying fruit has become a family outing at local pick-your-own farms that provide hay rides to the crops, containers for picking, and the ability to pick your own produce directly from the vine. 

Strawberries are typically the opening pick-your-own crop for local orchards, with Baugher's in Westminster being the first with ripe berries ready for picking. 

Baugher's Orchard, 1015 Baugher Road, Westminster

• Strawberries will be ready for picking starting Thursday, May 23. They will be open Memorial Day from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Regular hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Call before heading to the orchard to make sure pick-your-own is available, 410-857-0111.
• Other pick-your-own crops: sweet cherries, sour cherries, peaches, apples and pumpkins. 

Larriland Farms, 2415 Woodbine Road, Woodbine

• Strawberries are almost ready to be picked. Call 410-442-2605 to find out when picking will begin. 
• Other pick-your-own crops: tart cherries, red raspberries, black raspberries, purple raspberries royalty, blueberries, thornless blackberries, peaches and apples. See the picking schedule here. 

Rock Hill Orchard, 28600 Ridge Road, Mount Airy

• Strawberries are not quite ready, they will re-assess on Wednesday, May 29. Call 301-831-7427 to check availability.
